Who is Roxset?
Roxset has been a leader in the food and beverage flooring industry for over thirty-five years. Working across Australia and Asia-Pacific, Roxset deliver purpose built and designed flooring.
Unlike most competitors, Roxset delivers an end-to-end solution designing, delivering and installing the floor to meet the specific requirements of the client.
Where are you based?
Roxset has offices in both Queensland and New South Wales, but delivers flooring across Australia. With over 5,000 installation across all states and territories of Australia including extremely remote locations, Roxset has a demonstrable track record of being able to support your flooring requirements wherever you may be.
How long have you been offering flooring?
Roxset has been delivering production flooring since the mid-1980s.
Food and Beverage Industry Compliance
Are your floors suited to the food and beverage industry?
Roxset production flooring is purpose built and designed for the food and beverage industry. The flooring is required to be impervious, anti-slip, anti-bacterial, highly impact resistant, temperature tolerant, and easy to maintain and repair.
What industry standards does your flooring meet?
Roxset flooring meets and/or exceeds a number of industry standards including HACCP, BRC and Australian Government Registered Establishments (as administered by DAFF, previously known as AQIS).
What quality control does Roxset practise?
Roxset has a tailored in-house quality management system which includes a full audit trail of manufacturing and installation activities.
How does your flooring meet my OH&S requirements?
Roxset flooring offers a safe underfoot working surface (anti-slip) that can be cleaned to a high care standard.
Roxset Solution Design
What is the best Roxset flooring for my production facility?
Roxset designs each solution based on your unique requirements and specifications. This includes traffic type and frequency, temperature requirements, chemical resistance needs, underfoot safety, colour and long term durability.
My old floor is extremely cracked and not commercially serviceable, What is the best approach to getting a new floor?
Speak with Roxset and arrange a site review. Roxset can then discuss the best options to address your issues.
My customers visit part off my production facility. What can Roxset offer to make these areas highly presentable for my customers?
By addressing flooring surface irregularities, fabricating cove and corner details, laying up suitable thick flooring layers, fabricating detail to equipment and ensuring attractive colour combinations and finishes, Roxset adds value to your business and provides an attractive environment for both staff and visiting clients.
What colours are your floors?
Roxset flooring comes in a wide range of colours and finishes.
What textures / finishes are available?
Roxset tailor the surface to suit the client’s and industry’s requirements (such as HACCP). For example, an area with high employee traffic will typically require a suitable textured surface to reduce the probably of slippage.
You aren't the lowest quote. What makes Roxset the right solution for me?
While we may not always be the lowest quote, Roxset believe that we typically provide the best long-term value and solution, bar none. For over thirty years, Roxset have continued to deliver long-lasting effective flooring for the most demanding of environments.
Too often, Roxset have been asked to install flooring to replace a previously cheaper solution that only ended up providing a short lifespan. This has a threefold issue: the cost of the first inferior floor, the cost of removing the failed flooring and the extra outage (shutdown and disruption) of installing the new and correct flooring solution.
Can you meet different requirements in different areas of my production facility?
Yes. Many production facilities feature a variety of flooring requirements. These may include wet production floors, dry areas, areas of high worker traffic, cold rooms, storage areas, an forklift/trolley traffic zones,

Flooring Considerations and Capabilities
Is your flooring moisture and water tolerant?
Yes. Some Roxset coatings can be installed and adhere to a substructure with a 100% relative humidity.
Can your flooring withstand thermal shocks and extremes if cold and hot temperatures?
Generally thermal shocks are catered for within the Roxset product design and accounts for the temperature variations typically experienced in a food and beverage facility.
If you have specific concerns, these can be discussed at the preliminary stage of the solution design to ensure we meet your requirements.
How does your flooring manage expansion and contraction of sub-bases?
Roxset designs an expansion joint coating integration system to provide movement transfer along sub-base control joints.
What tolerance do you have for acids, alkalis, chemicals, blood, dust, dairy, salts, lubricants and oils?
Roxset flooring is anti-corrosive and highly tolerant and resistant to all the above contaminants. Good practice ensures that any such contaminants (and others) are cleaned with Roxset during the design phase.
Is your flooring anti-corrosive?
Roxset flooring is highly anti-corrosive, especially important to the dairy and beverage (alcohol) industries.
How does your flooring handle forklifts and other industrial machinery?
With the correct design, Roxset floors can cater for constant forklift and heavy traffic movement.
Does your flooring have anti-microbial properties?
Roxset floors can be designed to include anti-microbial additives. Roxset has a proud history of providing production flooring for the most challenging of anti-microbial environments including bio-security plants, abattoirs, dairies, bakeries, seafood, canneries and tanneries.
Drainage Concerns
What should be my major concerns with drainage?
Drainage is a fundamental design and planning element to most food and beverage production facilities. Most importantly, the drainage must have the capacity to disposal of all liquids during all production and wash down cycles. This is to ensure that all cleaning protocols are met.
Hence, the layout of the floor wastes and falls in the production floor is an early and major consideration in the design of a production floor.
My existing floor has pooling and drainage issues. What can I do?
Roxset can advise on existing floor waste to optimise the current inadequate drainage pickup. This may include reviewing available new and improved floor wastes. Roxset are able to provide drainage screeds and new falls to existing floors.
Installation and Planning
Who installs Roxset flooring?
Roxset has its own in-house experienced installation teams. This ensures adherence to Roxset’s company systems and policies well-developed over thirty years in the business.
How long does it take to installation a Roxset production floor?
In our experience, most smaller floors can be fully installed over a two or three day weekend and available for production use the following day. Larger projects vary by scale but the client will always be fully appraised of access and timeframe before the commencement of any installation
Does a freshly installed floor have odour issues?
No, there are no odour issues with Roxset installations. The Roxset flooring materials are VOC-free.
Can you install over cracked or broken floors?
After review, Roxset can typically install over floor surfaces in poor condition (chipped, corroded, cracked). Roxset has a variety of techniques which ensures an excellent result despite the state of the underlying sub-structure.
Can you install over a tiled surface?
After confirmation that the tiles are in sound condition, Roxset can install to a food grade standard.
Can you fit your installation requirements to our production schedule?
With our extensive experience with production facilities and schedules, Roxset works with the client to accommodate your production requirements, minimising outages and shutdowns.
As you are installation my flooring, can you assist with other aspects of my production facility?
Roxset will happily work with existing upgrade management arrangements and can provide overall production floor project management.
Is your installation team available in my state / town / location?
Roxset has extensive experience installation in locations all over Australia and Papua New Guinea, from major cities to ultra-remote locations.
Maintenance and Warranty
How do I maintain my Roxset production floor?
Roxset has a manual covering flooring cleaning and maintenance. Roxset is happy to advise on cleaning and maintenance protocols.
How login will my flooring last?
Roxset flooring is among the longest-lasting in the industry and typically offers more than ten years (we have installation that are thirty years old!!). Naturally, it is dependent on traffic, maintenance and cleaning.
